To ensure the best possible experience when deploying the Interactive Yearbook in a physical location, we recommend the following hardware specifications.

## Touchscreen Displays
The display is the most important component. It should be bright, responsive, and durable.
- **Size:** 32" to 55" depending on the available space.
- **Resolution:** 1080p (Full HD) is the minimum. 4K is highly recommended for crisp text and clear photos.
- **Touch Technology:** Projected Capacitive (PCAP) touch screens are preferred as they offer edge-to-edge glass and support multi-touch (like smartphones).

## The Computer (Mini PC)
The kiosk software runs locally but pulls data from the cloud, requiring a reliable, small-form-factor PC mounted behind the display.
- **Processor:** Intel Core i5 (or AMD equivalent) to handle smooth PDF rendering and video playback.
- **RAM:** 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended.
- **Storage:** 32GB SSD or larger (to cache data locally and prevent slow loading).
- **Network:** Hardwired Ethernet connection is strongly preferred over Wi-Fi for stability.

## Enclosures and Mounts
If the kiosk is in a high-traffic area, consider a commercial kiosk enclosure.
- The enclosure should protect the PC and power cables from tampering.
- Ensure there is adequate ventilation to prevent the mini PC from overheating.
- **ADA Compliance:** Ensure the screen is mounted at an accessible height and angle for all users, including those in wheelchairs.
